Our story
It was my dream. Now it's their advantage.
Every morning on my way to my Place of Primary Assignment in Benin City, I was greeted by a sight that never left me — children sitting across the street, scrambling for food, waking up each day with survival as their only pursuit. One question kept troubling my heart: how will these children ever know that technology exists when their entire world revolves around finding their next meal?
— Owoh Rejoice Chidera, Founder

Inspired by Tunde Onakoya and Chess in Slums, I asked myself: if he could use chess to plant hope, why can't I use technology to do the same? That conviction gave birth to The Tech Advantage — Project TTA — as my personal NYSC Community Development Service project.
Between November and December 2025 we took it to primary schools, secondary schools, a bustling street junction and a grand finale at Idia College, Benin City. Fellow corps members, tech professionals, government officials and corporate sponsors joined us. We ran five-minute street talks, fifteen-minute assemblies and hour-long workshops — whatever each setting allowed.
In all, 8,118 young people — 4,249 boys and 3,869 girls — met technology in a new way. Outstanding students received laptops, power banks and smart glasses, scholarships in Data Analytics and AI were awarded, and every child received a TTA card with a QR code that leads to this learning platform. The Edo State Ministry of Education formally commended the project.
Now registered as TTA Africa Limited, the mission has grown: put free, high-quality, legal learning in the hands of every young African — so that every time they tap, scan or visit, there is something new to learn.
